  • What are your inspirational movies and books?
  • Can you say that you are a man / woman of many parts? (can do well many things) What are you good at?
  • What venues in the city do you frequent yourself? (visit very often)
  • Think of tasty food, beautiful place or enjoyable experience that was… out of this world (extremely good)
  • Why do you think some people are fanatical about certain singers or bands? Have you ever been such a fan?
  • Think of a sportsmen, musician, painter, colleague who is second to none (the best) in his skills.

Round 2. Leisure and Lifestyle

  • Which of the public holidays do you think are worth celebrating? Are their any holidays that are too commercialized?
  • Having such a wide choice of modern entertainment, do people still need such traditional kinds as poetry and fiction (художественная литература)?
  • Do you like any traditional festivities (celebrations)? How do you prefer to spend festive season? (New Year holidays)?
  • When was the last time you were having a whale of time? (fantastic time)
  • Would you jump at the chance to try any new activities? which ones?
  • What books, shows, or films made an indelible (lasting) impression on you?
  • What things help you summon up the energy? (gather)

Round 3. Modern trends

  1. Urban explosion. Big cities turn into megacities with more than10 million population. Would you like to live in a city like that?
  2. Collaboration. The future world is about being in a team and collaboration. Is it true for what you see and experience? Are you more a team player or prefer working solo?
  3. Less God, more spirit. They say that religiosity is declining. Can you see any evidence of it? What are consequences of this decline?
  4. Fake news. Is there much fake news on the mainstream media? How do we know? Is the real situation in the world distorted (misleading) by media?
  5. Global vs Local. Are you embracing (accept) globalization? or do you think that local culture is more important and uniqueness of different nations should be protected?
  6. Gender. The future is female (Hillary Clinton). Is women's status relative to men improving? Is feminist movement fair (just)?
  7. The rise of China. Is China the next global leader? What countries could be future leaders as well? Why?
  8. Demands for privacy (right to keep their personal matters secret). Now online services collect user's data. How do you make sure that you data is protected?
